Hi there, let me start by clarifying that even though my real name is Maria Paula, everyone, and I mean everyone, calls me Mapi. Since I was a little girl I’ve been fascinated by creation, primarily animals and plants. My mom would tell you that since I was a little girl, my most precious possessions were my drawing notebook, an animated human-anatomy encyclopedia, and my personal hero, Steve Irwin.

Curiosity has marked everything I’ve done for as long as I can remember. To reflect the beauty I see in the world has become the compass, becoming a better human in the process– the goal. 

My love for plants and nature was nurtured by the fertile soil of my homeland, Colombia. Growing up there taught me resilience, tenacity, and a deep realization of our need for each other. I’m a collector of beautiful things, a book design enthusiast, and my new personal hero is Oliver Jeffers.

Right now I live in Atlanta, GA with my husband hopeful of what’s to come.
